About
Babel Media is a boutique translation and interpreting agency based in Rabat, Morocco, providing local and international clients with bespoke communication solutions.
Established in 2015, Babel offers a one-stop-shop service for complex language-intensive projects, thanks to its integrated network of partners.
Going beyond the debate over whether translation is an art or a science, Babel Media approaches this activity primarily as a craft, requiring a rigorous review cycle, with painstaking rounds of copy-editing and polishing.
Translation
We specialise in Arabic, English, and French, but other language combinations – from Spanish and Italian to German and Chinese – can also be provided on demand.
Sworn
We provide the full range of sworn translations required by Moroccan authorities, local embassies, and foreign institutions. These translations – ranging from contracts, verdicts, and articles of association, to marriage certificates, police records, and university degrees – are delivered by our own court-accredited translators.
General
We service translations of a variety of non-technical content, from activity reports, magazine features, and pitch decks, to conference speeches, media collaterals, and documentary scripts. These are translations that neither require the seal of a sworn translator, nor involve intensive, field-specific terminology research.
Technical
We deliver translations of technical content from such disciplines as finance, law, science, technology, security, and consulting. This category of content requires intensive terminology research, extensive background reading, and, occasionally, even direct liaison between the translators and the practitioners in a particular field.
Interpreting
Simultaneous
Whether for small workshops or large conferences, simultaneous translation – where interpreters translate instantaneously from their booths into the headsets of the attendees – is the best way of ensuring seamless communication between speakers of different languages. We provide access to professional interpreters and quality equipment, to the highest regional standard.
Consecutive
For small meetings, consecutive translation serves the purpose. The interpreter would listen to the speaker and render, a few sentences at a time, the key messages to the audience. On the upside, this reduces cost for the client as no equipment is used; on the downside, the translation would slightly interrupt the natural flow of communication.
Liaison
Not all interpretation takes place in the comfort of a meeting room or a conference hall, some assignments require the interpreter to accompany a client from one location to another. Here, the interpreter plays multiple roles, from cultural adviser to liaison officer to whispering interpreter. We deliver this service as well.
Team
Babel Media staff translators are all graduates of the prestigious King Fahd School of Translation in Tangier, and they all have had solid experience working on critical assignments under time pressure.
